Bio of Amy Drehmel
Years ago, Amy Drehmel walked into Tideline Aquatics as a beginner freshwater customer. She began breeding many species of freshwater fish including various common and rare betta species. She has been a loyal Tideline Aquatics customer ever since.Someone

Amy Drehmel is a marine and freshwater fish breeder living in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. Amy grew up in Tennessee and was a artist and model before moving to South Carolina with her ex husband Alan Drehmel. With Alan Drehmel, Amy was one of the first marine hobbyist to raise the green wolf eel blenny (Congrogadus subducens). Amy was also one of the first to raise the yellow watchman goby (Cryptocentrus cinctus). Amy wrote about this for Reefkeeping online magazine. Amy continues to work with yellow watchman gobies and other Cryptocentrus species. She is also working on a hybrid Crytocentrus! Amy has also raised many species of clownfish (Amphiprion) including akindynos, ocellaris, percula, bicinctus, "snowflake", frenatus (tomato) and both the black and brown polmnus (saddle clownfish). She has also raised the beautiful Maroon Clownfish (Premnas biaculeatus). Amy continues to raise many different Amphiprion. Amy is currently working with Priolepis gobies and a few eels including the ghost ribbon eel (Pseudechidna brummeri). She is the first to document the leptocephali stage of this eel. Amy has also bred and raised Redhead Gobies (Elacatinus puncticulatus) and Banggai Cardinalfish (Pterapogon kauderni) in captivity.

Many of Amy's adult breeders have been purchased from Tideline Aquatics. We (Tideline Aquatics) bring in the fish from various countries from our supplier of marine fish, Quality Marine in California (including the ghost ribbon eels). Due to the hard work and endurance from hobbyists like Amy Drehmel and the controlled and proper collection of marine fish and invertebrates by companies like Quality Marine, our hobby has advanced to offer many marine species that no longer will require the collection from the wild. Thank you Amy for allowing Tideline Aquatics to post these new and exciting videos on our website!!!

Exciting News of the Breeding of the Ghost Ribbon Eel (Pseudechidna brummeri)
Amy Drehmel, an advanced marine hobbyist and Tideline Aquatics customer from Moncks Corner, has successfully documented the spawning of the beautiful Ghost Ribbon Eel. Understand the importance of this spawning. It is the first time this has EVER been documented!!! The videos show a group of five males and one female. Several males participated in the spawning. The eggs hatch after only three days into transparent larvae called Leptocephali. Three days later, they develop eyes (seen in one of the videos). One of the videos shows a siamese twin larvae! The adults spawned in a 90 gallon bare bottom aquarium outfitted with sponge filters. The adults were conditioned with frozen silversides (frozen fish).
